Tray Chic

gt04septmsl_traywknobs.jpgSimple drawer pulls become fancy feet for a plain wooden tray and make it worthy of special occasions. Prime and paint tray. If knobs' screws aren't long enough to go through the bottom of your tray, replace them with longer ones.
1. Drill a hole about 1/2 inch from each corner. Attach knobs.
2. Cut fabric, paper, or a woven place mat to size to line the tray and conceal screw heads. If you like, cover liner with 1/4-inch-thick glass (have it cut to size at a glass shop) to keep it clean.

Root Of The Earth Bowl

Root of the Earth Bowl
Artisans hand-carve the discarded root balls of Chinese fir trees into magnificent bowls whose sides undulate like petrified flower petals. Equally at home as centerpieces, fruit bowls or natural sculptures, each one is as unique as its tree of origin. The bowls are untreated, so cracks and variations will occur. As dryness may encourage further cracking, please keep your bowl out of direct sunlight or heat. Regular oiling with food-grade oil will help keep it moist and beautiful. Not recommended for cooked foods or liquids. Before use, wipe clean with a damp sponge.

Love it

How often do you find yourself tossing away food containers? Even if you pack your own lunch, are you reusing containers and packaging, or finding yourself creating more waste than you might like to . . .? The To-Go Ware® 2-Tier Stainless Steel Food Carrier is a great way to take your food to-go. Stainless steel is highly resilient, so this carrier will be with you for a long time—and it won’t leach toxins like many plastics can. Great for both hot and cold food; the two separate units allow you to keep your side dish from running into your main course, and there is also a handy removable plate. Its sturdy handle and light weight make this item convenient and easy to carry. Take it with you to the office, to school, while camping or picnicking . . . why not bring it into your favorite take-out place and get it to-go in your To-Go Ware®, rather than in a disposable container?

All Abird!

TRAIN BIRD FEEDER
This pastel painted birdfeeder will get your yard's style right on track. Each "car" on the train, including the playfully detailed locomotive, has an opening to let your local birds eat their fill, plus a swinging door that makes cleaning a breeze. The train hangs easily from branches and eaves, mounts to your walls with the included hooks, and also sits gently on your lawn or between the plants in your garden. Once this train pulls into your yard, all the neighborhood birds are sure to get on board. For the bird's safety, the house is painted with bird-safe paint and not treated with heavy chemicals. Sold as the set of three train cars.

Unique

When there's more to be hung, make sure you reach for one of these four-stone wall hangers. Perfect for the sophisticated mudroom or entryway, these long coat hangers feature sea stones taken from the shores of New Hampshire.
The stones get their uniquely round shape from years spent in the ocean being tumbled with sand and waves. Each hook features copper hardware, a light-colored hardwood back, and a completely unique stone.
The stones are functional as well as beautiful - their round shapes won't deform coats or snag loose pieces of clothing as you walk by. For each stone "harvested" another rough quarry stone is "planted" in its place. Comes with hardware for installation. Can be hung vertically or horizontally. Made in New Hampshire. Available with a dark hardwood or light hardwood base

Tea Tin Vases

Great idea!
Vintage and new tins are often decorated with charming, old-fashioned prints and lettering. Clean out these containers, and give them a second life as informal flower vases. We filled one with roses, gomphrenas, and sweet peas. The tins are usually watertight and certainly shatterproof, so you don’t have to worry about leaks or breakage.

Uncommonly good

I admit it, I'm a season pusher. With all of this snow piled up, dirty and sad looking, I just want a nice summer day and scratch that, I want a warm icecream day. These superb dishes will def. be in order this summer.

Great Stuff!

Whoever you are Paul, I adore you. Paul and his representatives scour these places for new and exotic items. There are hundreds of stories and anecdotes about finding a cache of garden cloches, or watering cans, English school desks, Victorian garden edgings, etc.

Take a look. I just ordered the wooden baguette trays for a party I'm hosting later this month. I'll let you know how well they work!

Click on the sap buckets to visit his site. More great finds to come!
