Simple drawer pulls become fancy feet for a plain wooden tray and make it worthy of special occasions. Prime and paint tray. If knobs' screws aren't long enough to go through the bottom of your tray, replace them with longer ones.
1. Drill a hole about 1/2 inch from each corner. Attach knobs.
2. Cut fabric, paper, or a woven place mat to size to line the tray and conceal screw heads. If you like, cover liner with 1/4-inch-thick glass (have it cut to size at a glass shop) to keep it clean.
